WiFi Voip phone

WiFi or Wireless Fidelity is no doubt a big craze these days. Now, individual users as well as businesses of all sizes and categories are persuaded by WiFi's ease of installation, mobility and precision. And today, the boisterous frontier of WiFi is about to be time-honored by a new wave of developers and users.

With Voice over IP (VoIP) packet voice takes over pocket data. In the case of WiFi users, they have to still stay connected even with so much improvement. On the other hand, VoIP over WiFi completely disunites users from their desktops. It is ideal for personnel who are awfully busy and are always moving about. There are several names by which this new technology is referred to. It is popularly known as Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi), Voice over Wireless LAN (VoWLAN), Voice over Wireless IP (VoWIP), wireless Voice over IP (WvoIP), Mobile VoIP and WiFi Telephony or simply WiFi Voice Phone.

Each of these terminologies gives rise to expectations as most users are used to cell phones. Users expect greater portability than what is possible with a VoIP soft phone loaded on a laptop or some kind of hand-held WiFi enabled 'WiFi PDA'. Then there are those who are fairly happy with enterprise-wide walkie-talkie communications over a WiFi-extended LAN from a laptop or PDA handheld. Many also demand PSTN integration to make or receive real phone calls. Though most VoWiFi installations thus far have been specialized in vertical applications, VoWiFi will almost certainly be adopted by what the Gartner Group calls "micro-mobile workers" those 18% or so of workers who are ever moving about, placing and receiving phone calls not only at their desks but in other offices, meeting rooms or roving the sites.

So these devices are likely to be doing extremely well as the chances of mobile executives settling down is remote, if at all. WiFi VoIP Phone is a device of the future. Watch out for the coming rage!
