WiFi sniffers

WiFi Sniffer is a wireless tool that detects wireless devices, calculates their signal strengths and presents them to the user in a user-friendly fashion. It is written in C/C++ and has a GTK front end. WiFi Sniffer supports all wireless network cards supported by the linux-wlan-ng Prism2 driver that provides hardware signal strength information in the "raw signal" format (ssi_type 3).

WiFi Sniffers implement a modular n-tier architecture with the data collection at the bottom tier and a graphical user interface at the top. Without having to boot-up the computer, the WiFi Sniffer will find the strongest wireless signal. Because of this users are able to save time, money and avoid getting frustrated.

WiFi Sniffers are easy to use as well. Just point it in any direction, push the button and hold it down. And the WiFi Sniffer is activated. The red lights sweep back and forth. If there is a wireless access point within 300 feet, it will find it. If the red lights stop sweeping and remain lit, it means that an access point has been located. However, if the red lights do not stop sweeping, you need to point the Sniffer in a different direction. The Sniffer is compact and convenient. For areas where the signal is weak, the antennas need to be adjusted before rechecking to locate an access point.
