WiFi laws

Services provided by network servers are governed by certain laws, regulations and policies. Before opting for their services, an Agreement has to be executed between the parties to smoothen out the terms and conditions related to the service. The Agreement governs the relationship between the Customer and the Service Provider that provides the Wireless Internet Access service, as they may exist from time to time to the customer who establishes an account with them.

Normally by establishing an account or using any software provided, developed, licensed or owned by the provider, the customer would have to agree to the Agreement and to use the services in compliance with the Agreement and other Policies of the provider.

Customers must be at least 18 years of age - this is a basic point. Then there are finer issues like access points or enabled venues may not be available in all areas. Current prices for the service offered are posted on the signup screen and may change with time. Service providers also reserve the right to introduce new fees.

Other important service details may be as follows:

  • Customers must provide accurate and complete billing information including legal name, address, telephone number and credit card/billing information.
  • Customers must report all changes to this information within 30 days of the change.
  • Customers are responsible for any charges to their account.
  • Customers having questions regarding charges to an account should contact the Customer Service.
  • All charges are considered valid unless disputed in writing within 30 days of the billing date.
  • The provider is not responsible for any charges or expenses like overdrawn accounts, exceeding credit limits and others.
  • Delinquent accounts may be suspended or canceled at the sole discretion of the provider. However, charges will continue to accrue until the account is canceled and collection fees, late charges or other similar fees may be added.
  • Upon registration, the customer will receive a username and a password. The customer should keep the password confidential so that no one else may access it.

The regulations governing the relationship between a service provider and a customer may change on a case-by-case basis.
