Looking to go wireless in your home or office? One of the first things that you'll need in order to do this is a wi-fi router.
A wi-fi router works in much the same way that a regular router does, except it emits a wireless signal so that you can get internet access on your wi-fi enabled laptop, desktop or other type of wireless device such as a PDA, WII or PSP gaming machine.
Wi-fi routers are available at many retailers including places such as Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Circuit City and other retailers that offer computer equipment. In many cases, wi-fi router have ethernet lines to connect computers that don't require (or aren't compatible) wireless connections. These routers can vary in prices from around $40.00 to as high as high as a couple hundred dollars, depending on their signal strength and other factors. Manufacturers include Belkin and NetGear.
