Linksys WiFi
Users in Spain will now be able to share an encrypted wireless hotspot through the combined efforts of Vodafone and Linksys. They will be able to take advantage of this wherever they have 3G-cell phone coverage. This service is also going to be introduced in several other countries across the world. The lucky one's are Germany, Greece, Italy, Holland, New Zealand, Portugal, South Africa and UK.
Linksys WiFi antenna booster
A WiFi antenna booster us very helpful because it can increase the range of the wireless network and thus cover more people and benefit them. An antenna will also function to increase the power of the signal. Thus, there is constant research going on in this direction. Emerging WiFi technologies has come up with this antenna booster that can significantly increase the WiFi signal within your house.
The antenna will increase your power output by 1 watt, which is equivalent to a 20 db gain for your signal. It is packaged with 2 different connectors that will hopefully allow you to screw it onto your existing unit. There is also a power limiting feature that will make sure that you comply to the FCC's 1000mW power output limits. However in comparison to the other signal enhancing solutions that are available, this is a little more expensive. But there are benefits as well. It is just as easy to install and it will also take up less space. Currently it is available for $119.99.
In another development, the Linksys WRT54G3G, like the D-Link 3G Mobile Router, is now allowing subscribers to share services like Verizon's Wireless BroadbandAccess. However, the cellular companies may have a different point of view on having to share their service. There is still no information on when it might be available in the United States.
