Verizon Makes Holiday Wishes Come True By Offering Free Phone Calls To Troops In Iraq

Posted by admin, Mon, 20 Nov 06 13:48:39 -0500

Today Verizon Business announced that they are going to be offering free phone calls for our military stationed in Iraq. Free calls are being offered from Nov. 22 through 28 and again Dec. 22 through Jan. 2. This is the fourth consecutive year that Verizon Business has offered this service to the families of soldiers stationed in Iraq.

"For our troops stationed far away from home, hearing the sound of a loved-one's voice can go a long way to lift the spirits during the holidays," said Jerry Edgerton, group president for Verizon Federal, the sales organization within Verizon Business dedicated to serving federal government customers. "Verizon Business has made it a tradition to help the troops stay connected during the holiday season as a gesture of appreciation for the sacrifices they make daily."

Verizon will use a state of the art mobile communications system equipped with phones to allow US Armed Forces Personnel to call home at no charge. This is a very nice thing to offer our servicemen and women that are away from their loved ones during the holiday season. For more information, please visit Verizon.
