Verizon FiOS TV Comes To Montgomery County, Maryland

Verizon has been significantly expanding their footprint for FiOS TV for quite some time, and you can now add Montgomery County, Maryland to the list of places that get the super-fast internet access and TV bundles.

The company said it now plans to begin offering FiOS TV to more than 75,000 households there by the end of December. The No. 2 phone carrier had previously complained it was unjustly being blocked from expanding its new video business in the area.

Verizon has been losing customers for years in the area to cable companies, and hopes that the rich bundle of Verizon FiOS TV will entice them to switch. Comcast is the main competition in the area, and Verizon hopes to be able to compete with them.
