Spam Email Hits Epidemic Proportions For Holidays

Spam e-mail is now rumored to be as high as 90% of all e-mail, and even more spam is sent around the holidays. I'm sure all of us can relate to this latest report that shows, despite efforts to combat spam, it has finally overwhelmed everyone.

"Every year we see a seasonal increase around the holiday season. It's just worse than it's ever been before this year," said Daniel Druker, executive vice president of marketing at Postini, a company that provides message security services.

I know I can't be the only one who has noticed the huge increase this year. It makes it nearly impossible to even care about e-mail. The spammers are definitely winning, as we all know.

"The spammers are definitely winning at this point. It's gotten much worse," said Gerald Thain, a professor of consumer law at the University of Wisconsin-Madison who specializes in e-mail issues

With email technology continuing to be as outdated as it has been, the end of e-mail may actually be coming.
