OZ Bringing Social Networking To Cell Phones

Posted by admin, Wed, 06 Dec 06 09:36:03 -0500

Oz, a privately held company, has announced theikr plans to bring popular social networking websites to cell phones in a big way. The screens are small, but the plans are big because so many people currently use social networking websites like MySpace.

"Clearly the user experience will not be the same as on a desktop (computer)," Mogensen said in an interview. "But the mobile phone has other attributes that are so appealing we think it will fly."

One of the main attributes the mobile phone has is that so many people are currently using one. For those on the go, this service should offer quite an alternative to not using their favorite websites at all.

Oz recently closed a $34 million round of financing. The company is based in Montreal and employs about 230 people.

Oz is currently in talks with many major mobile providers concerning the service.
