Cingular Wireless Adds 11 New Cell Sites In Hawaii

Cingular recently announced that they have added 11 new cell sites throughout the state of Hawaii. The addition of these cell sites will improve network capacity and increase coverage throughout the Aloha State.

"Providing our customers across the state of Hawaii with high quality wireless coverage and service is our top priority, "said Ed Maruyama, director of sales for Hawaii. "Our efforts this year are focused on strengthening and building out our network in more rural areas and along the travel corridors that are important to our customers."

The new cell sites were added in the following locations:

• Upper Makiki - Makiki Heights area of Honolulu
• Ihilani - Ko'Olina area including the J.W. Marriott Ihilani hotel
• Iwilei - Iwilei and Sand Island areas
• Turtle Bay - North Shore including Turtle Bay Resort
• Blackfield Building - Ward Center, Kewalo Basin & western end of Ala Moana Beach Park
• University of Hawaii at Manoa - H1 corridor between Punahou & Kapahulu including the University of Hawaii campus
• Airport Terminal - Honolulu International Airport
• Makawao - Makawao & upcountry Maui
• Hana - Hana & the surrounding area
• Lanai - Southside of Lanai which includes Manele Bay, Koele,Hulopoe Bay, Kapihaa Bay & Manele Bay
• Hilo - Maunaloa Mac Nut Factory area
