XO Communications just announced that they've signed a 5 year agreement to provide dark cable that connects all Nashville's governmental offices.

Under the agreement, XO will connect 22 twenty-two major government administration buildings, including EMS stations, police and fire departments.

"We are very pleased that the Metropolitan Government has chosen XO as the underlying provider of network infrastructure," said Brian Law, general manager of XO's Tennessee and Missouri markets. "This agreement highlights the extensive coverage of XO's metro network. We look forward to working with the Metropolitan Government as it continues to enhance government communications systems in support of the services it provides to its citizens."

XO Communications currently owns and operates the largest fiber network in Nashville, with over 450 route miles in the area.
