Earthlink And Vonage Team Up To Offer Wi-Fi

Posted by admin, Mon, 08 Jan 07 11:51:17 -0500

Recently Vonage announced that they've signed a three year agreement with Earthlink to offer wi-fi internet access in limited markets.

Under this agreement, Vonage will buy wholesale internet access in all of the cities that Earthlink builds its municipal wireless networks in. Vonage will then resell wireless internet access under their brand name.

"As a leader in municipal Wi-Fi networks, EarthLink is committed to open access, which enables other companies to offer their unique services to their customers at consumer-friendly rates," said Donald Berryman, executive vice president of EarthLink and president of the ISP's municipal networks unit. "Vonage can continue to trail blaze and evolve its brand by expanding its suite of product offerings, through this agreement, in the emerging municipal Wi-Fi market."

Earthlink already has functioning wireless networks in Anaheim, Philadelphia, Milipitas, and in New Orleans. There was no word on what consumers can expect to pay for Vonage services, once available. To find out more, please visit Vonage.com
