Verizon Wireless Expands High-Speed Wireless Internet, Access In Washington State

Washington state broadband customers can expect to go a bit faster these days, as Verizon Wireless has announced a major expansion of high-speed internet services. Customers in Ellensburg, Yakima and the Tri-Cities areas can all expect a wider range of services and products than have been available to them before.

The new capabilities come with the expansion of the company's Evolution- Data Optimized (EV-DO) network, enabling both its BroadbandAccess and V CAST services. Customers in Ellensburg, Yakima and the Tri-Cities now have access to the same high-speed Verizon Wireless services that have been available in the greater Puget Sound region. The services also became available today in Wenatchee.

Verizon plans on extending coverage through all of Washington in the near future. Here are cities where the expansions have already been announced.
