Verizon Reports Record Number Of Text Messages Sent In September, 2006

Today Verizon Wireless reported that September was a record setting month for text messaging. Over 5 Billion TXT messages were successfully delivered on their network last month. This sets a record not only for Verizon, it sets a record for the entire U.S. wireless industry.

Sending text messages is a great way to while away some time at the mall or to keep in touch with people without causing a scene, and obviously their popularity continues to grow.

Verizon also reported that they had successfully delivered over 100 million PIX and FLIX multimedia messages.
