Verizon leads Florida in high speed internet

More and more people are using Verizon FiOS and low-cost DSL in Florida, making the company the regions number one high-speed internet carrier. Florida is a key part of the telecom company's strategy due to population density. So far, lower prices on high speed offerings is working its' magic, with more consumer joining the service daily.

For years it appeared that cable companies would maintain a strangehold on the high speed internet arket, but their lead is giving away to cheap DSL that is being rolled out by telephone companies. The main goal is the convergence of all services into one consolidated billing plan. This has been the dream of both telcos and cable companies for years.

The main reason for such a high increase lately in broadband subscribers is due to the demand from users switching from dialup. The decline of dialup is finally dramatic. Verizon looks to increase their market share lead this year in Florida with even more offerings coming.
