If you live in certain parts of Brandon, Vermont, it's now much more likely that you can get Verizon DSL service. Verizon has a big push going on in the state of Vermont:

Pamela Porell, vice president of Verizon Vermont, said Brandon is part of a major broadband expansion announced in April that will make DSL available to 80 percent of its Vermont customers in the next four years.

The service speeds and plans are decent, and are comparable to what you'd receive in most areas.

Verizon offers two service plans. One plan has a maximum download speed of up to 3 megabits per second and a maximum upload speed of 768 kilobits per second for $30 a month. The other plan has a maximum download speed of up to 768 Kbps and a maximum upload speed of 128 Kbps for $15 a month for the first year and $18 a month thereafter.

Verizon competes with Comcast for broadband internet access customers in Brandon.
