Almost all ISPs these days offer variations of the same products, so the main areas where they'll differentiate is in customer service and technical support. Unfortunately, you won't find out how good the companies are at these tasks, unless you're already a customer. For this reason, it sometimes pays to check out a company based on their reputations. Disgruntled customers will usually complain so if you look around online, you'll see what people who already deal with the company, think of them.
