Earthlink recently announced that they posted a 16 million loss in Q2 of 2007 despite 312 million dollars in revenues for the same quarter.

The losses are blamed on a venture with Korea's wireless provider Helio a division of SK Telecom. The internet access provider also saw a decline in subscribers to their dial up and other product offerings. Subscribers fell to 4,341,000 from 5,344,000 for the same period in 2006.

Rolla P. Huff, EarthLink president and CEO issued the following statement:

"While EarthLink continues to see robust cash generation from our core access business, we have been challenged in achieving planned results in our emerging growth initiatives. Over the past four weeks, I have had an opportunity to do initial reviews of each of our business units, as well as the Helio investment. These initial reviews are confirming that we have a number of opportunities that are largely within our control to create meaningful shareholder value in the near term."

Despite the losses, Earthlink las been hustling to make business wherever it can. They recently gave ex-SunRocket customers a special offer to convert to their VoIP product and have also began selling Freestanding DSL to qualifying consumers.
