What does it take to get a wireless internet connection? Not as much as you think, and even less in the last few years as wireless internet access connections have proliferated. Basically, you need a wireless network adapter, and some sort of provider.

It's easier than ever to find wireless access when you're travelling. You will still need to call ahead and confirm, but almost any decent hotel will offer it. If you're lucky, you may find free wireless or free wi-fi, but you never can be too sure.

You need to bone up on security quite a bit before using your wireless internet connection. You might be surprised at just how easy it is for people to get priviledged information, if you aren't careful.
