Today Verizon Wireless announced that they have added BroadbandAccess networking capabilities in Boca Raton, Florida and along the Treasure Coast.
This brings high-speed wireless services to the core areas of the Treasure Coast, from Fort Pierce to Vero Beach. With this most recent expansion, an additional 750 square miles of coverage have been added and 250,000 residents in the area now have access to the Verizon Wireless broadband service. The new high-speed Treasure Coast network links up with the Verizon Wireless BroadbandAccess network in Martin and Palm Beach counties, serving customers along Florida's East Coast all the way to Key West. The high-speed wireless services also are available in other major markets across the state.
This is all a part of a major network build by Verizon. Verizon has spent over one billion dollars extending their network in Florida alone. They are planning on investing around thirty billion dollars to grow their EV-DO, FIOS and Wireless networking nationwide.
