Verizon online DSL is a popular high speed Internet provider offering great value for money in broadband services. All a subscriber will need to do is just place the order online and the shipping and activation charges are waived.
Verizon DSL packages start at $19.95 per month. There are promotional offers for new residential DSL customers. However a 1 year commitment or qualifying local and long distance plan is required. If you have subscribed for the 1 year commitment plan and cancel the plan between 2 and 12 months, a $99 early termination fee will be charged. And if you cancel between 4-12 months, the rate becomes $29.95.
At the end of the 1 year commitment period, the rate will increase to the then current month-to-month rate. To maintain a discounted monthly rate, you have to agree to an additional 1 year commitment or have a qualifying local and long distance plan. If you opt for the month-to-month plan and cancel in the first 12 months, then the modem must be returned or a $79 equipment fee. Plus there are other expenses like an additional recovery charge and, if applicable, a tax recovery charge will also be added.
If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with the service, you can cancel the Verizon DSL service within 30 days of the service-ready-date, return all equipment provided by the company and receive a refund for any charges that have been paid to Verizon Online.
Please keep in mind that the Verizon Online version of MSN® Premium is not Macintosh® compatible. The actual speed from the service will vary from user to user. Bandwidth in the homes is shared by multiple users, so the more the number of people who are online at any given moment, the lesser the speed will be. Home users may require wireless adapters and WiFi cards that are sold separately. Though the company enjoys tremendous goodwill in the market place, but like others, it cannot guarantee speed and uninterrupted use. The equipment that is provided is new or fully inspected, tested and warranted.
